CREATIVE MUSINGS
This was the third painting to emerge once I managed to get out of bed to do something creative. I am wearing my Oodie which I lived in for about two years. I was so depressed I didn't shower, brush my teeth, wash my hair or change into "day clothes". The black and white image is the bleakness of my everyday existence, and the only colour was artificial from my hairdresser. The background is highly symbolic (and that is why I chose it for my logo). When I was a teenager I identified very strongly with Van Gogh - I also felt like an outsider, I kept wandering to find my place in the world. In my second last year at school, I did a speech about Van Gogh and that he was never accepted until he died. The Starry Sky behind me is a representation of where I would go if I died.
